Facebook has recently added a new feature to their site which allows you to add, change, or remove a legacy on your personal Facebook page if you are 18 years of age or older. Once Facebook is notified of your passing, this legacy will have access to your account to write messages such as a memorial service or funeral proceedings. To add or alter a legacy on your Facebook account, first go to your General Settings. Click on the arrow in the top right corner of your Facebook account and then select “Settings.” Next click “Manage Account” and type in the person that you wish to have access to your account and select “Add.” Facebook then gives you the option to send a message to your legacy informing them of your choice. To send your friend that message, click “send.” Once you have clicked send then your legacy has been added to your account and the person has been notified.
